Long Bio

Shana Glickfield is a founding Partner of Beekeeper Group, a boutique public affairs firm in Washington, DC. With over 25 years of public affairs experience, Shana advises a wide variety of corporate, association, and nonprofit clients on their digital communications and advocacy strategies, focusing on websites, social media content, creative design, and digital advertising. Shana’s innovative approach to digital advocacy is instrumental in her clients’ success and was recognized early in her career when she was selected as one of PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 in 2015, a top achievement in the communications sector.

Glickfield has decades of experience in digital-first projects. She was an early blogger voice in the Washington, DC cultural scene as The DC Concierge. She then combined that experience with her law and lobbying background to help her clients leverage emerging social platforms to establish and advance their public policy voice online, which she continues to do today. 

Prior to Beekeeper, Glickfield was the Online Community Director for NextGenWeb.org, an initiative of USTelecom, the broadband association. Before that, she was the Director of Strategic Communications at Amplify Public Affairs, where she was the first employee to be a hybrid of the Public Affairs and Internet departments. Shana has also worked in-house at several national nonprofit organizations, including Public Citizen and Earthjustice.

Shana graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and has a law degree from Temple University. She presents and comments frequently on digital media topics, including for CNN.com, ABC News, Politico, and on Capitol Hill.

Glickfield spends a lot of her time giving back to the DC community. She serves on the Board of Safe Shores, the DC Children’s Advocacy Center, is on the is on the Advisory Committee of Tzedek DC. She is certified to give her grandmother’s Holocaust testimony in schools and sponsors Trustees for the DC Chapter of the Awesome Foundation of which she was a founding Member.

She resides in both Washington, DC, and Hudson Valley, NY, with her husband Jimmy and her dog Rio.
